This summer there will be a two day seminar on the Gospel of St. John conducted by Rev. Dr. William Weinrich. He is professor of historical theology at Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and also author of the Concordia Commentary on John 1:1-7:1.

One of the things that makes his commentary so brilliant is the professor's vast knowledge of the early church fathers. They had a clarity of thought regarding the interpretation of Holy Scripture that the church at large no longer possesses. Dr. Weinrich brings said clarity to his hearers today.

The seminar will be held on Monday June 10th and Tuesday June 11th, at Christ Lutheran Church in Cleveland, Ohio.

Day 1: Matins at 9:00 a.m., class 9:30 to noon, lunch noon to 1:00, class till 4:00.
Day 2: Matins at 9:00 a.m., class 9:30 to noon, lunch noon to 1:00, class till 3:00.

This gives us 10 hours of quality time with the master. The fee is $100 and includes a cooked, sit-down lunch on both days, as well as coffee and snacks, etc. If you are coming from out of town there are several hotels within 5 minutes of the church.

You may also wish to get the Commentary. The section of the intro entitled: "Why This Gospel Was Written" is worth the price of admission alone. But the entire book is filled with light.
